Conveyancing Officer - TEMP

Initial 3 month contract opportunity with the view to go permanent.

Having been in business in WA for 50 years, our client is the State’s primary Development Agency across Residential, Industrial and Commercial developments. With an exciting pipeline of developments scheduled, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Conveyancing Officer to join their team to manage and administer contracts of sale.
  
Reporting into the Conveyancing Manager, responsibilities will include:

  • management of sales and acquisition contracts in accordance with policy and procedures and industry practices;
  • using systems to actively monitor delinquent and forecast settlements to ensure expected settlement dates are as accurate as possible;
  • dealing and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders regarding settlement matters;
  • preparing and reconciling settlement statements and adjustment of rates and taxes;
  • coordinating and administering settlement variations and substitute purchasers;
  • understanding of land subdivision processes and Landgate functions;
  • preparing and lodging legal documents;
  • using PEXA to perform settlement and document lodgements;
  • maintaining and updating systems e.g. Clarity and Objective;
  • providing high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders;
  • monitoring compliance of post settlement contract conditions, attending to customer enquiries, processing approval memos for extensions, on-sales and repurchases and removing encumbrances on satisfaction of conditions;
  • assisting banks to facilitate registration of mortgages (refinances);
  • liaising with sales officers, development and business managers, buyers, settlement agents, real estate agents, financial institutions, other government agencies and the public;

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of the conveyancing industry with ability to perform a wide range of conveyancing tasks. You will have sound knowledge of relevant legislation, understand and interpret Contracts of Sale and be proficient in systems Pexa, Landgate and Mapviewer. Your problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills will be second to none.
